Ladders, drills, spades, big cooking pots, a handcart: no home needs these all year, but on the day it does, it has to buy one or go looking.
The idea: a neighbourhood tool shelf in a corner of a mosque, a club or a shop. People give what they have spare; borrowers sign a register and return on the agreed day. Two volunteers keep the register in turns.
To start: one shelf, one register and ten things.
