Scammers often call saying “this is your bank”, “you have won a prize” or “money went to you by mistake”, and ask for money, a PIN or an OTP.
The idea: once a month, half an hour at a mosque, club or tea stall: what new tricks are going round, and three rules. No OTP or PIN to anyone. Pressure to hurry means suspicion. Hang up and check by calling family on a number you know, or the organisation’s own helpline.
