Many older people now hold a smartphone but do not know how to make a video call, save a number or send a photo, and feel shy asking someone every time.
The idea: one hour a week, a few young people of the neighbourhood sit beside older people and teach slowly: answering and ending a call, saving a number, a video call, turning on large text, and where to keep the emergency number 999. Each person does it on their own phone, with their own hands.
One rule is strict: nobody asks for anyone’s PIN, password or OTP, and nobody sends money or opens an account from anyone’s phone.
