At night on unlit roads, rickshaws, vans and bicycles with no rear light or reflector cannot be seen from afar, and fast vehicles hit them from behind.
The idea: neighbourhood volunteers talk to drivers at rickshaw and van stands or on market day and, with the driver’s consent, put reflective stickers on the back and beside the wheels. With two words of advice: use a light at night if possible, and keep to the edge of the highway.
The stickers are cheap and easy to find; local shops or traders are often willing to give them.
