Fire extinguishers at the market, and learning to use them
Abir · 13 October 2026
In a market of shops packed side by side, fire spreads very fast. An extinguisher within reach in the first few minutes, and people who know how to use it, can stop a small fire before it grows.
The idea: the market committee keeps extinguishers and sand buckets at a few fixed places that everyone knows. Ask the nearest fire station to train the shopkeepers in using them. Check each extinguisher’s expiry date and pressure gauge regularly, and keep the market’s passages clear.
If a fire grows, do not fight it yourself; get everyone out. Fire Service 16163, and 999 in an emergency.
