On a crowded bus, train or launch, older people, pregnant women, mothers holding babies or disabled people often stand while healthy young people sit. Most people simply do not notice; reminded, they stand up.
The idea: with the owner’s and driver’s permission, a small, polite sticker above the seats: “Please give this seat to an older, pregnant or disabled passenger, or someone holding a child. Thank you.”
Be the example: when you see someone standing, give up your own seat.
