A habit of checking expiry dates at village shops
ফারজানা ইয়াসমিন Desher Kaj team · 6 October 2026
In small village shops, medicine, biscuits and baby food sometimes get sold past their expiry date. Neither buyer nor seller notices, and children fall ill.
A few teenagers can visit the market shops one afternoon and politely say they are there to check expiry dates. If anything is expired, ask the shopkeeper to set it aside. Hang a small note at the front reading, check the date before you buy. Repeat the round once a month.
You need four or five young people, the shopkeepers' cooperation and a few hand-written notices.
