Keeping vital papers in waterproof packets before storms and floods
রুমানা পারভীন Desher Kaj team · 3 October 2026
In Chattogram, when waterlogging or a storm floods the house, birth certificates, land papers and education certificates get soaked and ruined. Replacing them later is a great deal of trouble.
Each family can keep photocopies of vital papers separately. Seal the originals in plastic packets and keep them in a sturdy box on a high shelf. Neighbourhood teenagers can go house to house showing the method. Make sure everyone at home knows to take the box when a storm signal sounds.
You need some plastic packets, a box and a few teenagers to explain it.
