A reading hour on a boat in the rainy season

When the water rises in the haor of Sunamganj in the rainy season, many children cannot get to school and forget what they learned. Restarting after the long break is hard. Turn a large boat or a high veranda into a gathering place for children on two or three afternoons a week. School teachers or college-going young people take turns to read storybooks aloud and practise sums and Bangla writing. When it rains, sit under a shelter. You need a boat or a high spot, some books and exercise books, and a few young volunteers who can come by turns.
