A river-bank warning board at the ferry ghat

On the chars of Bhola everyone knows by word of mouth where the bank is eroding, but a newcomer knows nothing. Often the damage is done before the news travels. Put up a large board by the ghat. Each week a volunteer in turn writes which bank is risky, which path to avoid and where safe ground is. At the bottom write in big letters to call 999 in an emergency. You need a wooden or tin board, chalk or paint, and a small group of boatmen and aware villagers. Before the rains, walk the bank together once and update the board.
