A move-out signal for families living on hill slopes
তানিয়া সুলতানা Desher Kaj team · 5 October 2026
Steady rain softens the soil on hill slopes. Many families sleep through the first signs of danger, and if nobody has agreed who warns whom, everyone is left confused.
First, people living on the slope sit together and agree on the signs that mean moving out, such as cracks in the slope, muddy water running down, or a tilting tree. Then choose a signal, a bell or a whistle. Mark a safe house or school lower down as the shelter, and write down, by name, who will help the elderly and children.
It needs a few willing neighbours, a bell or whistle, and a written list. Before the rains, run one practice together.
