A para rehearsal for moving belongings before river erosion
মো. রেজাউল হক Desher Kaj team · 13 October 2026
When a river begins to cut into a char, there is little time. Without a plan for who takes what and where it goes, important papers, books and medicine get lost.
Every family can keep one sturdy sack or trunk with key papers, birth certificates, copies of land papers, medicines and the children's schoolbooks. The para fixes a high safe place where everyone takes the sack when erosion warning comes. Once a year, practise together and see how quickly belongings can be moved.
You need one sack or trunk per family, a high spot and a few young helpers. Keep separate helpers for the elderly and for people living alone.
