An evening study circle on the roof for slum children
ইসরাত জাহান Desher Kaj team · 30 September 2026
In crowded slums everyone shares a small room, and with the TV and noise children cannot sit down to study. Their schoolwork suffers and they slowly fall behind.
Set up a one-hour evening study circle on a roof or open veranda. College students or retired teachers of the para take turns sitting with the children and helping with homework. A mat, a light and a small board are enough to begin. Keep a roster of who comes each day.
You need a safe roof or veranda, mats, light and a few volunteers. Start with the owner's and parents' permission.
