A shared savings pot for fishing families' ban months
শিরিন আক্তার Desher Kaj team · 13 October 2026
In the months when fishing in the river is banned, fishing families' income almost stops, and many get caught in high-interest loans.
Ten or twelve fishing families in a para can form a small group. In good fishing weeks each puts in what they can, written in the group's notebook. One trusted member keeps the book and reads the account aloud to everyone every month. In hard times members borrow as needed and repay later.
You need a safe box or cooperative-style ledger, a regular meeting place, and a few simple rules written with everyone's agreement.
