A small first-aid box on boats in the haor

Hospitals are far from the haor. If someone is cut, hurt in a fall or falls ill on a boat, it takes long to reach care and nothing is at hand. Sit with the boatmen at the landing and agree that every passenger boat carries a closed plastic box with bandages, clean cloth, antiseptic and oral saline packets. Ask a health worker to teach the boatmen simple first aid in an hour. Write 999 on the lid. You need a few boxes, modest supplies, someone to check expiry dates monthly, and a trainer.
