A neighbourhood team to check the embankment after storms
নাজমা আক্তার Desher Kaj team · 17 October 2026
After tides and storms, small cracks and erosion show on the embankment, but nobody reports them. By the next tide they become a breach and salt water enters homes.
The morning after a storm, a team of three or four walks along the embankment. Wherever they see a crack or low spot, they note it or take a photo and tell the union parishad and the local water development board officer. For small cracks, neighbours can put sacks of earth as a temporary hold.
You need a few volunteers, some sacks and spades. One team member handles the contact.
