An evening literacy and arithmetic class for workers

Many factory workers cannot write their name or follow salary calculations. They are easily cheated and cannot read a contract. Hold an hour-long class three days a week after work. First teach their own names, numbers and simple addition and subtraction, then reading pay slips and forms. Volunteer teachers or educated neighbours teach, slowly and with respect for adult learners. You need a room, light, notebooks and pens and a coordinator. Fix the class time around factory shifts.
