A writing notebook for neighbourhood loans

Borrowing and lending money among neighbours is very common in our area. But when nothing is written down, there are misunderstandings about how much was taken and returned, and sometimes relationships suffer. A few people in the para can keep a simple notebook. When a loan is made, write both names, the date, the amount and roughly when it will be repaid, and have a neighbour sign as witness. When it is repaid, note it in the same place and both sign. It needs a notebook, a pen and one trusted person to keep it. It is not meant to pressure anyone into lending, only to keep both sides at ease.
