A neighbourhood talk on keeping mobile banking PINs safe
শিরিন আক্তার Desher Kaj team · 5 October 2026
Many people send and receive money by mobile at river ghats and markets. Some hand their phone to someone else and tell them the PIN, and others give the PIN when a caller claims to be from the service. We hear of people losing a whole month's earnings this way.
Once a month, in the afternoon at a tea stall or courtyard, share a few simple points. A PIN is never told to anyone, even if a caller asks. If a transaction seems suspicious, hang up and make contact yourself. Do not use a birth date or an easy number as a PIN.
It needs a place to sit and someone who can explain in plain words. Invite elders and mothers too.
