A monthly gathering to check blood pressure and sugar
প্রিয়াংকা সাহা Desher Kaj team · 7 October 2026
In villages many middle-aged people do not know their blood pressure or sugar is high. They see a doctor only when the problem is big, and treatment is then harder and costlier.
On one fixed afternoon each month, sit in a neighbourhood room or a school veranda. Ask a nearby health worker or trained nurse to bring the equipment. Everyone queues up for a check and notes the result on a small card to keep. If the reading is high, they are told to go to the health centre.
You need a place, a few chairs, a health worker's time and one or two volunteers to fill in cards.
