Easy ways for mothers with little schooling to check their child's notebook

Many mothers who cannot read feel shy about checking their child's notebook. So no one knows whether the child is studying or has done the homework. A teacher or an educated neighbour can hold a small session with the mothers. Show how page count, red marks and the teacher's signature tell you whether work is happening. Ask the child to say what they learnt today, and the mother listens closely. You need a quiet place, a few sample notebooks and one afternoon a month.
