A day to check medicine expiry dates at home and set old medicine aside
নুসরাত জাহান Desher Kaj team · 1 October 2026
In flats and rented rooms many drawers hold expired medicine. In an emergency someone may take it in a rush, and children can reach it.
Once a month a few neighbours sit together with their medicine boxes and read the expiry dates side by side. Anything expired, or unrecognisable, goes into a separate box; ask a pharmacist or health worker how to dispose of it safely. Never throw it in an open drain or leave it within children's reach.
You need a table, a few empty boxes, a pen and a notebook, and one person to coordinate.
